Day 1: Hanoi (D)
Arrive at Hanoi’s International Airport on Flight SQ176, you will be met by your local English speaking guide for the transfer by coach to a local restaurant, a special place that takes underprivileged children and teaches them the hospitality industry, for a late lunch. Then transfer to your hotel for check in.
After check in, continue with a brief Walking Tour of Hanoi and explore this wonderful old quarter of Hanoi and surrounding areas and visit Ethnic Museum.
The Old Quarter is Hanoi’s historical past, featuring a myriad of narrow streets that were once named after each ware sold – e.g./ Tin Street, Silk Street. Even today you can see certain streets filled with shops producing or selling the same goods. This orientation tour introduces you to the history of old Hanoi – and how to negotiate the thousands of cyclists and motor scooters!
This evening an introduction to the Vietnamese cuisine with dinner at local restaurant.
Day 2: Hanoi – Hue (B, D)
This morning a full-day City Tour of Hanoi’s historical sites. Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum where the great man lies in state and his House nearby are reminders of a man who led his country through hard times. One Pillar Pagoda is a significant symbol to the nation and visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first University. Then transfer to Hanoi Airport for your departure flight to Hue.
On arrival in Hue, transfer to the hotel for overnight. After take a rest at your hotel, you will have dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 3: Hue – DMZ Tour (B, L)
Today your tour visits the DMZ included lunch at local restaurant. During Vietnam-American War, the Ben Hai River was the demarcation line between North and South Vietnam. This makes a Demilitarized Zone of five km each from the river.
However during the war, the Southern area of DMZ was one of the bloodiest battlefields. This tour will take you back to the war sites, including: Ben Hai River, Hien Luong Bridge, Vinh Moc Tunnel, Dong Ha Town and Cemetery. Return by coach to Hue for check-in at your hotel.
Day 4: Hue – Hoi An (B, L, D)
Today explore the historical significance of the small city of Hue, the former Imperial City, on a city tour.
Start the day with a road to the Ancient Citadel, the capital of Vietnam from 1802-1945, which was recognized as a World Heritage Site, where the last King of Vietnam – Bao Dai King – abdicated on 30 August, 1945 & visit Khai Dinh Tomb with its mix of Asian and Western architecture. Lunch at local restaurant.
After lunch, we give you the opportunity to visit a special place. Duc Son Pagoda is highly regarded both locally and Internationally. The Orphanage gives shelter to disadvantaged children, including the homeless, disabled, orphans, and Agent Orange victims. The nuns have over 20 years cared for an created an opportunity for thousands of poor children to attend classes – many of them have accomplished higher education and now enjoy stable jobs.
After a visit to the Pagoda and Orphanage, you get to journey to Hoi An over the Hai Van Pass, a spectacular scenic road showcasing the South China Sea. Lunch on the way (own cost) with a stop at the infamous Da Nang Beach, before arriving at Hoi An for check in to your hotel before having dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 5: Half day Hoi An Cycling Tour (B, L)
After breakfast depart the hotel on a Cycling Tour. Ride through the Old Town of Hoi An, along scenic country back roads past paddy fields to Tra Que Vegetable village. Return back to Hoi An hotel early afternoon.

Day 6: Hoi An (B)
Day at leisure to enjoy Hoi An.
Day 7: Hoi An – Da Nang – Saigon (B)
Depart the hotel to Da Nang Airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). On arrive Saigon and transfer to Hotel for check-in.
Day 8: Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Tour – Overnight Homestay (B, L, D)
This morning visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels. One of the few intact monuments to the Vietnam War. Beneath the ground lie 200km of underground tunnels, dug by hand and inhabited by the Viet Minh during the US war. A video of the tunnels in use is shown, before walking around the area to view some of the tunnels, field kitchens and hospital. Crawl inside and experience life in the tunnels if you wish!
Lunch at local restaurant before continuing by road to the Mekong Delta, you’ll travel into the fruit bowl of the country, past rice fields and fruit plantations. Boarding a boat discover the myriad of tributaries and visit home industries.
Tonight a special treat at a local village stay. Your accommodation is simple but the experience unforgettable with amazing local cuisine to end a perfect day.
NOTE: Sleeping arrangements are basic with shared facilities (cold shower/toilet) and canvas stretcher type beds with blanket and mosquito net. Students are requested to pack and travel with an overnight bag for use at the Home stay. Main luggage will remain on the coach or left at their Hotel.
Day 9: Mekong – Saigon (B, D)
Depart by boat for the return journey through the Mekong witnessing daily life dawn, before returning to Saigon by coach with a stop for lunch at local restaurant and visit to the Cao Dai Temple enroute.
Arrive Saigon late afternoon and check-in to hotel for overnight.
Tonight celebrate your journey with a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 10: Depart Saigon (B)
Check-out of hotel. Transfer for a visit the War Remnants Museum before transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for your onward flight.
Includes: Private transfer, English speaking guide, 3-star accommodations and 1 night homestay, domestic flight tickets, entrance fees, meals as indicated, wet towels and mineral water.
